The 2025 Global Health and Climate Conference, hosted by the World Health Organization (WHO), Government of Brazil, and Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), will take place in Brasília, Brazil, from 29–31 July 2025. Conference Overview

The conference will launch the Belém Health Action Plan, a strategic framework to strengthen climate-resilient and equitable health systems. A key feature, the Ideas Lab, fosters innovative, inclusive dialogue to shape health-focused outcomes for COP30 and beyond. It emphasizes:

• Evidence-based, forward-thinking solutions for climate and health.

• Novel practices, including Indigenous knowledge, youth-led initiatives, and technological innovations.

• Cross-sector collaboration among governments, NGOs, academia, and private sectors.

• Contributions to the Belém Health Action Plan and COP30’s Health Day agenda.

Ideas Lab Objectives

The Ideas Lab aims to:

• Promote interdisciplinary dialogue on climate-health solutions.

• Showcase scalable practices rooted in real-world experience.

• Amplify underrepresented voices, particularly from low- and middle-income countries.

• Provide actionable inputs for the Belém Health Action Plan and COP30 health discussions.

Eligibility and Selection Criteria

Participation in the Ideas Lab is by invitation, following a merit-based review. Proposals should demonstrate:

• Real-World Impact: Evidence from ongoing or completed initiatives showing tangible climate-health benefits.

• Diversity: Priority for submissions from low- and middle-income countries, local governments, and underserved communities.

• Innovation: Scalable, transformative approaches to health system adaptation.

• Inclusivity: Incorporation of gender balance, youth, Indigenous knowledge, or community-led efforts.
